1. Southern Sardinia: discover Tuerredda Beach
In a cove overlooking a blue sea and surrounded by Mediterranean scrub, Tuerredda beach is a long stretch of fine white sand. Not far from the coast is a small island on which stands an ancient tower that’s pleasant to swim to.
The beach, ideal for those who want to relax, spend a day at the beach and swim, is well equipped and also suitable for families with children.
Location: southwest of the island, province of Cagliari, municipality of Teulada. 22 km from Teulada and 7.5 km from Chia.
How to get there: from Teulada, take the SS195 towards Pula; from Chia, take the 129 bus, which takes 30 minutes.
2. Porto Giunco beach, a paradise beach!
Among Sardinia’s most beautiful beaches, Porto Giunco, near Villasimius, has the particularity of being located at the foot of a promontory on which stands an ancient Spanish tower. The beach, which is very wide, is characterized by white sand with pink reflections, and is bathed by clear waters that turn blue as you move away from the coast. The beach is well equipped.
Location: southeastern Sardinia, Villasimius commune, province of Cagliari.
How to get there: from Villasimius, it’s a 10-minute drive along the seafront, following the signs for Stagno di Notteri; once parked, cross a wooden footbridge along the pond to the sea.
3. The most popular beach in northern Sardinia: La Pelosa Beach
This beach in Sardinia, located in the Gulf of Asinara, is one of the most beautiful in Europe, thanks to its shallow waters and fine sand that invite you to experience the sea like a swimming pool.
Protected by the cliffs of Capo Falcone, Isola Piana and Asinara, this spot is always sheltered and the water is never rough, but the currents continually change the appearance of the sandy shore, making it a different beach every time.
In addition, in front of the lido, which is divided into an equipped and an open area, stands the famous Aragonese tower, the symbol of the area, which can be reached on foot via the Pelosetta cove.
Location: north-western tip of Sardinia, commune of Stintino.
How to get there: 4 km from Stintino, 10 minutes by car.
From Sassari, drive 25 km on the SS131 towards Porto Torres and take the exit for route 34 (approx. 45 minutes).
4. Punta Molentis beach, Villasimius
Part of the Capo Carbonara Marine Protected Area, Punta Molentis beach is characterized by its arched shape, delimiting an area of fine white sand with pink highlights. On the left, there are rocks and on the right, groups of hollow rocks. Everywhere, the coast is bathed in clear waters ranging from emerald green to blue. The beach is equipped with facilities and a refreshment point.
Location: extreme south-east of Sardinia, in the municipality of Villasimius.
How to get there: 6 km from Villasimius. It takes 16 minutes by car from Villasimius or 1 hour 15 minutes from Cagliari.
5. Beaches in Sardinia: Su Giudeu Beach
The large, spacious Su Giudeu beach is an extension of another beautiful beach in the same bay, S’aqua Durci, from which it is separated by a cliff. This shoreline is characterized by soft, white sand, and is enhanced by the presence of Su Giudeu rock, a small island located in front of the beach that can be reached on foot when the tide is out. The beach alternates between open spaces and landscaped areas, and is very popular with families with children and divers alike.

How to get there: 10 km/13 minutes by car from Domus Maria. It can be reached quickly from Chia in 7 minutes or from Cagliari in 1 hour. Bus line 129 connects all these towns.
6. Cala Brandinchi
Known to some as “Little Tahiti”, Cala Brandinchi is an exotic, lush beach characterized by fine white sand, clear seas and enchanting vegetation. During the summer season, the beach is equipped with canoes, dinghies, kayaks and pedal boats for hire, as well as umbrellas and sun loungers.
7. Porto Istana beach
The bay of Porto Istana lies at the foot of Cape Ceraso, a granite promontory in the hamlet of Murta Maria, within the Gulf (and territory) of Olbia.
The bay consists of four beaches separated by small rocky strips. It is bordered by pink granite and surrounded by green Mediterranean shrubs: rockroses, arbutus, heathers, holm oaks and wild olive trees. The four coves, named by ordinal numbers starting from the north, are characterized by a fine white sandy bottom, sloping gently down to the emerald colors of the sea, making them particularly suitable for children.
8. Berchida Beach
Berchida beach is located in the municipality of Siniscola, in eastern Sardinia, and is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the Mediterranean. The beach is very long and spacious, connected to the north by the beautiful beach of Capo Comino and to the south by the beaches of the Bidderosa oasis, which can be reached on foot. The seabed is shallow, the sand fine and snow-white, and the sea color ranges from green to turquoise.
