St Martin : Golf Mullet Bay
Located on Mullet Bay beach on the Dutch side of the island, this 18-hole par 70 course is a magnificent setting for golfers.
In 1990, a small group of passionate golfers founded the Sint Maarten Golf Association with over 130 players. The aim was to make their golfing experience more meaningful and to promote the sport on the island.
Golfers on the French side of the island followed their example and in 2005 founded the Tamarins Golf Association (founder: Hockins Seguelha).
The main objective was to enable the Mullet Bay Golf Course to be validated and to organize official competitions and qualify their handicap by the FFG.
Guadeloupe: Saint-François International Golf Course
Guadeloupe is a popular tourist destination in the Caribbean Sea, particularly for its beaches and lush natural surroundings. The island is also a prime location for golf enthusiasts, with two centers dedicated to the sport. The most famous is the Saint-François International Golf Club, located in the city’s tourist district. Created by Robert Trent Jones Senior, this 18-hole course offers all the services of an international golf center and is suitable for all levels of player. It also hosts major professional events, including the Open de Saint-François, part of the Alps Tour and the largest professional tournament in the West Indies.
It is known for its windy conditions and multiple water traps, offering a serious challenge to all who play.
The prestigious Saint-François golf course hosts the Open de Saint-François every year in May, as well as other major professional tournaments. The Saint-François Open is an official stage of the Alps Tour, a renowned series of European professional competitions. The Saint-François event is the only one of its kind to be held overseas. Over the years, this tournament has become the biggest high-caliber professional event in the whole of the West Indies.
Martinique: Golf de l’Impératrice Joséphine
Playing golf in Martinique is an enjoyable experience with beautiful tropical scenery and refreshing sea breezes. There’s one golf course in Martinique to enjoy: the Empress Joséphine golf course in Les Trois-Îlets, opened in 1976. It was designed by Robert Trend Jones Sr. and makes full use of banks, trees, lakes, bunkers and obstacles to provide 18 holes of challenging golf.
