Saint-François: the best beaches
La Plage des Raisins Clairs
This is the ideal beach for family vacations. You’ll find all the facilities you need to enjoy long hours here: picnic tables under the palm trees, parking and showers. After a day of swimming and lounging, the Marina is just a 5-minute drive away, where you can enjoy a delicious meal or a drink.
L’Anse à la Gourde
A white sandy beach with a unique charm and a coral reef that reaches right up to the shore. It’s an unspoilt, authentic spot, with a panoramic view over La Désirade. Easy access via the road to Pointe des Châteaux. Parking is available nearby.
L’Anse Kahouanne
This beach is located in the south of Grande-Terre, on the road to Pointe des Châteaux. Here you’ll find a world of beach dreams: white sand, transparent turquoise water. Don’t hesitate to take a stroll in the small creeks with their limestone rocks, located behind the woods.

Plage de la Caravelle, arriving at Sainte-Anne (towards Saint-François)
Plage de la Caravelle is one of the largest beaches in Guadeloupe. It’s a corner of paradise where you can enjoy the white sand and the safety of calm, clear waters, in the shade of coconut palms. There’s also a snack bar on the beach. This corner of paradise is so popular that Club Med has been operating here for 30 years! Here you can enjoy kitesurfing and windsurfing.
La Plage du Bourg, municipal beach in Sainte-Anne
Do you have in mind those fabulous postcard landscapes you’ve always dreamed of? That’s what you’ll find at Plage du Bourg. It’s the place to be for families, with calm waters and no currents. You’ll come across “doudous” selling delicious coconut sorbets. Perfect after a swim!
Plage de Bois-Jolan, leaving Sainte-Anne (towards Saint-François)
What could be better than a turquoise lagoon over 1 km long, protected by a coral reef, with coconut palms as a backdrop, to enjoy the pleasures of a seaside vacation? This beach is a haven of tranquility and a dream spot to stay with your children. Enjoy a picnic in the shade of the coconut palms, followed by a dip in the warm waters. And why not end the day with a sunset stroll with your feet in the sea?
The magnificent beaches of Gosier
Plage Saint-Félix or Anse Canot
Plage Saint-Félix has a lively, dynamic atmosphere where you’ll want to party with friends and family in a friendly atmosphere. It’s a real rendez-vous on weekends. Part of the beach is shaded and benefits from the trade winds. Take time to explore the mangrove swamps from Anse Canot to Anse Vinaigri.
La Datcha Beach in the town of Le Gosier
Plage de la Datcha is alive day and night, with lighting until 11 pm. The calm waters allow children to enjoy swimming in complete safety. You’ll have a beautiful view of the Gosier islet, and for the more sporty, you can even swim out to the beach.

La Plage de l’Autre-Bord as you leave Le Moule (towards Saint-François)
You’ll be amazed by the beauty of the white sandy expanse of Plage de l’Autre-Bord, with its beautiful coconut palms, grape trees and carbets. It’s one of the only beaches on the island to be supervised by lifeguards, who monitor the water and the beach for your safety.
For your children, there’s a nearby leisure park with swimming pool, slide and games.
Anse Bertrand and Port-Louis
Anse Bertrand, or La Chapelle, is a beach protected by a coral reef. It’s not white sand, but blond sand. If you’re a surfing enthusiast, you can come and ride the waves here on days when there’s a big swell. Restaurants, parking, snack bars and picnic tables are all available.
Not only is the beach at Port-Louis (or Anse du Souffleur) made of white sand, but you’ll also find an exceptional seabed, accessible by snorkelling with just a mask and snorkel. It’s also a renowned surfing spot, when the northern swell kicks in.
The best beaches in Guadeloupe: Basse-Terre
The unforgettable beaches of Deshaies
The 3 most beautiful beaches are :
- Grande Anse Beach: a kilometer-long stretch of golden sand between Pointe Breton and Pointe du Gros Morne.
- La Plage de la Perle: close to Pointe Rifflet, with a superb view of the island of Montserrat.
- La Plage de Cluny: beware of breaking rollers on the beach! Enjoy lazing on the sand.
The authentic beaches of Bouillante
The two best-known beaches are :
- Malendure beach: a black sand beach facing the îlets Pigeon and the Réserve Cousteau, a dream spot for diving. It’s a magical place to discover the underwater world by snorkelling, after kayaking around the islets.
- Petite Anse beach: located just after Belle Anse à la barque. It’s a semi-circular cove with turquoise waters and a pretty little lighthouse.
Pointe Noire Beach
This beach takes its name from the volcanic rocks that emerge in the area. The sand is golden and the swimming pleasant. You can enjoy a picnic lunch in one of the carbets. You can learn to dive on site, with one of the diving clubs located on the beach. So don’t forget to bring your mask and snorkel for a spectacular underwater experience!
